Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I was inspired to fundraise for Parkinson's because of Fiona Nyman, a neighbour and family friend.  I've known Fiona my whole life, and last year she was diagnosed with Parkinson's.  She has lots of support from her family and she's doing well.  Parkinson's UK give advice, fund research and offer advice to those with this condition.  I'm not the most practical of people, so fundraising is my way of helping.

I wanted to set myself some challenges this year; I've turned 40 and I wanted to make it memorable.  I've always been in awe of those who do the Land's End - John O'Groats (LEJOG), especially since my friend Wil cycled it last year.  I can barely ride a bike, though. Lack of time and money means that walking it is not a viable option either.  I put the idea to the back of my mind until a customer bought an intriguing book to my till.  It was titled 'Move Along, Please' by Mark Mason and detailed his LEJOG by local bus. It took him 11 days, and 46 buses.  I bought a copy for myself and the idea that I could do this was born.

It'll be really testing for me, not just logistically, but being in my own company for 12 days is going to be...interesting.  I'll be blogging about my experiences as I go, you can keep up with my progress here:

I start on the 1st June. Thanks for reading!
