Story

Update:
I'm heading off to run this now! You can see where I am on my Endomondo page or see my times on the Stockholm Marathon site where I am runner number 18458. If you haven't donated, you still can.

Apparently, I am running the Stockholm Marathon on May 28th, 2011.

This is my first marathon and I've been training for the last several months. I believe there is a greater than 50% chance that I will finish. I'm hoping to finish within 4.5 hours. I am assuming that for most of the race, I will be chased by Vikings, as I have depicted in the image on the left. If there are no Vikings, I will probably be slower but have a greater chance of surviving.

I would like to use this misguided endeavour to hit people up for money on behalf of Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières. They are a decent, non-political organisation that gets doctors to where they are needed most in the world. Hopefully there will be at least one in Stockholm to resuscitate my carcass at mile 20.

Please donate! Especially if I have donated to whatever you have hit me up for in the past. My employer will match donations which means your cash is going twice as far.

As a side note, I'm matching (personally) 10% of whatever is raised (up to 1000GBP) to No Agenda, a listener/producer funded podcast that has been my training soundtrack. If, like me, you are fed up with the nonsense spouted by the mainstream media, No Agenda is an interesting alternative. Give it a listen sometime.

Thanks in advance! (now cough up),

Clancy
