I decided to do this because I was so impressed with the love and compassion shown to my dear friend Neil in the Hospice in Exeter.  The atmosphere was so calm and warm and welcoming.  In general I hate the thought of dying in an institution, but the Hospice didn't feel like an institution. For instance, Neil adored his dog - and there was Stumpy, lying on the bed beside him.  The whole approach to food, too, was so accommodating: if he didn't want a meal but fancied a bowl of soup, that was fine.  I really felt I wouldn't mind dying there myself, and who can say more than that?

So if you can, please help me exceed my target, and help the Hospice in its crucial human work.  If you don't want to donate this way, you don't have to - you could sponsor me in the old-fashioned way if you prefer!
