Story

Thanks for taking the time to drop by....

As many of you already know, my little sister accidently died unexpectantly & tragedly on February 7th this year. Clare suffered depression on & off for the past 8 years. Anyone who knew her will agree she was the most wonderful fun loving girl who lived to help others overcome obstacles & reach their full potential.

Clare is at peace now & we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that its not the end for her. We will meet up again one day & what a day that will be :-)

Meanwhile......we have decided to bring some good out of this tragedy by raising some awareness & funding towards a very worthwhile charity. Aware Defeat Depression has been working since 1996 to support all those in Northern Ireland affected by depression or bipolar disorder (manic depression). They opened their first office in Derry/Londonderry and now have a second office in York Street Belfast.

It costs £500,000 a year to provide support groups, information stands, helpline, life skills programmes and depression awareness training for young people in schools and older people in care. Please know that your contribution towards this really does make a big difference to people’s lives that would otherwise be shattered by depression. Check out their website: http://www.aware-ni.org/

We are organizing a sponsored walk around the beautiful North Antrim Coast area on September 17th & 18th. The walk will take place over two days. There is a registration fee of £10 per participant per day which goes directly to Aware Defeat Depression. Sponsorship forms will be available but not compulsory. We would love it if you could join us on either OR both days. The Saturday walk starts at Carrick-A Rede carpark and finishes at the Giants Causeway hotel. The second day starts from the Giants Causeway hotel to Ballyleese Caravan & a balloon release(all recycleable) with a bbq & some craic!!
If you are unable to join us in the walk you could donate online by simply clicking on the 'donate now' button.

Please help us raise more awareness for people who suffer in silence from this terrible condition. I have been amazed at how many people have approached me & opened up their hearts about their own similar story to my sisters. This is a serious situation that is becoming more & more widespread in our society.. Nobody should be made to feel insignificant or worthless. We are of great value & that is the absolute truth!! Together we can help make a difference. No doubt we all know at least one person who suffers. Please donate today for them!

Thank you & God bless

In the midst of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.
Albert Camus
