This summer we are heading to Tanzania to do volunteer work in schools in the Kilimanjaro area. We will be teaching the children from the orphanage English for 2 weeks.

Then 3 of us are then attempting ( Yes we are mad!!! ) the 19,000ft climb up Mount Kilimanjaro!!! So please please help us raise lots of money for these schools. Please note that ALL money donated will go to the charity and will NOT be used to pay for our climb.

We are raising money for a charity who are working to improve education in primary and pre-primary schools in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania by renovating and equipping schools, providing books and materials, providing in-service training and running an educational computer centre with internet access.

·  £30 will provide a table and bench for three pupils to sit at comfortably

·  £50 will buy drawing and colouring materials for one school

·  £60 will provide four days' training for a teacher of pre-primary pupils

  Children go to primary school from age 7 for seven years. For the first two years they have half a day at school, so it is not until age 9 that they start full time education. Most schools are in a terrible condition with earth floors, breeze-block walls, no shutters or doors and decrepit desks. Over 90% of primary school leavers in rural villages never have the chance of secondary education. Their primary schooling is vital for their foundation in life.
