On 1st September 2016 I will be joining a team of 100 colleagues from Marks & Spencer cycling 460km/284miles from London to Paris to raise funds for The Royal British Legion.

The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support for the Armed Forces community - serving men and women, veterans, and their families.

I have been lucky enough to have secured a place for this and am writing to you today to kindly request your sponsorship for this charity & in return I pledge to complete this challenge.

Having served a short service commission in the 1990s, this charity holds a special resonance for me. Although I did not take part in active service, I went through the same training & peace keeping duties, serving in Germany & parts of the UK. I am therefore proud to offer something back to this great charity and would be grateful if you could help me reach my target of £1200 through your much appreciated sponsorship.
