Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've always thought 'I'll run a marathon for charity one day', but never got any closer to it than that. So when my boyfriend deployed to Afghanistan in October and suggested running in aid of Care for Casualties I decided to stop thinking, and do it.

One of my closest friends ran the Reading Half Marathon last year (and is again), so it seemed like the obvious choice. Entering was the easy part, but now I'm into training I'm determined to run the best possible time, and to raise as much money as I can for a very worthwhile cause.

Since 2007, The Rifles have seen almost continuous action in Iraq & Afghanistan. 59 Riflemen have been Killed in Action and over 300 left with serious injuries including 29 who have lost limbs. Most have been caused by IEDs which cause complex multiple trauma. Care for Casualties is an appeal that gives the severely wounded, their families and the families of our fallen Riflemen the support, the inspiration and the means to rebuild their lives and make the best of their futures.

Please sponsor me to run the Reading Half Marathon and raise as much money as possible.

Thank you.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
