Story
Last October, Anna, a family friend, took her own life, aged only 19. I remember Anna as such a funny and feisty teenager, and it's tragic that this happened. I'm taking part in a team cycling challenge from London to Brighton with Anna's family and friends to raise money, and also to do something useful in memory of Anna.
Our group is called Anna's Angel's Cycling Crew and includes Caroline, Anna's mum, Tom, Anna's brother, Juliette, Anna's aunt, and friends of Anna and Caroline - Abbie, Annette, Keith, Will, Frann, Jane, Katy, Sophie and myself. The group is made up of varying levels of cycling skills and experience. Most of you know I love cycling, but I usually potter down quiet country lanes... 50 miles in a day with 100s of other cyclists will be a new experience for me, and I'm training to make sure I have enough puff for the hills.
Through taking part in this challenge I'm hoping to raise money for beat, which is the UK's leading charity offering support to anyone affected by eating disorders or difficulties with food, weight and shape. I hope this also helps to raise awareness about the important work that beat does in offering advice and support to anyone with eating disorders, as well as to their families and friends.
