Here we go again....I am sure that is what some of you will think when you realise I am running the London Marathon for Guide Dogs again in 2015.
I was overwhelmed by the support I received when fundraising for my London Marathon 2014 Challenge. I had the most amazing experience and was bowled over by the generosity of so many people....many whom I had never met, but felt so passionate about Guide Dogs that they wanted to help me raise funds for this fantastic charity.
Some may recall that during my training last year I had the opportunity to meet Paul Smith who suffers from Retinitis Pigmentosa a degenerative eye disease which has left him blind in one eye and near blindness in his other eye. His life was changed dramatically when he was lucky enough to be teamed up with guide dog Pedro. Pedro has made an immense difference to Pauls life and given him the independence back that we all take for granted.
Paul has set himself the challenge of running the London Marathon 2015 too. Together with my husband Lee, I will be helping to guide and support Paul during his training and throughout the race. So whilst I will be running the marathon again it will be a very different experience and a team effort with Paul, Lee and I raising much needed funds for Guide Dogs.
Please help support me in this exciting challenge to not only raise money for the charity but also to help Paul realise his dream.
We have not received confirmation from Virgin London Marathon yet, however we are very much hoping that Pedro will be able to join us in running the last mile of the race. That would be amazing!!
Thank you all.
