Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.

Story

I helped Cricket Without Boundaries with their launch event at Lord's in April 2005 which is when I first heard about the great work that they do.

I am using my annual leave to do a two week voluntary placement with CWB to Uganda in February 2010.  I fund my flights, meals etc. so the money you donate is not giving me a free holiday or paying for my trip.

My role will be to use my photography skills to take pictures of the work CWB are doing in Uganda to use on their website and for publicity; to teach the kids AIDS awareness; show the local groups how they can raise their profile and as far as my very limited sports skills allow, give them some cricket coaching (yes, I know this may hamper their cricket playing more than helping it!)

Thanks for your support
