This is my Mum Clare and Dad John at my best friends, Frank and Elena’s wedding.  Unfortunately my Mum passed away very suddenly in March this year of a brain tumor just a few days before her birthday.  It came as a massive shock and left us all in a complete state of disbelief as to how quickly someone can slip away.  From finding out she had gone into hospital and her passing only gave us a few hours to be with her and try to give her some kind of comfort.  All our family managed to get through to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride to be by her side and her friends and colleagues rallied round to offer their support.  It was a great show of affection to a wonderful woman who will be missed more than I can put into words.  She always put others before herself and was stronger than I will ever be and she will always be in our thoughts.

I want to thank the Hospital staff for doing a wonderful job and to all the staff and pupils who came to the funeral.  It meant so much to us to see how much she was appreciated at the School and it gave us a deeper insight into her working life which she cared about so deeply.

Finally I would like to thank everyone who sent us cards and flowers and to all the people that came to the funeral.  Every single presence there was greatly appreciated and all of you will be welcomed at our door should you ever want to stop by.

We buried my mum’s ashes at her favorite beach in Portugal on the day my mum and dad got married all those years ago and I hope that we made her final journey befitting to such a very special person.

To raise money for my mum’s charity fund I will be cycling from Prague to Berlin in August ( please add as much info here as you can  ).  Please give generously so that vital research can get all the funding that it needs to carry on fighting this terrible disease.
