<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.&nbsp;</p> <p>The marathon is over and I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed here.&nbsp; Sadly on the day things did not go as hoped and although until 14-15 miles in I was on course for four and a half hours which would have broken the fastest bottle world record and been a PB for me, a few nutrition/health issues put paid to those hopes and dreams.</p> <p>However, let's put my few hours of pain and distress into perspective here for a moment............ My friend Alison&nbsp;has been undergoing treatment for cancer for much of the last year.&nbsp; It's meant hospitalisation, surgery and courses of chemo that have really taken their toll.&nbsp; Through her treatment Alison has remained incredibly strong&nbsp;and has also had some wonderful support&nbsp;from a number of organisations, so when I heard I had been awarded my running club's place in the marathon I asked her which charity she would choose to benefit from some fundraising. She said the Cambridge Cancer Help Centre which I was delighted to support and will continue the fundraising for a few more weeks.&nbsp; Thank you for all your support so far.</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
