Badger Trust exists to promote and enhance the welfare, conservation and protection of badgers, their setts, and habitats. We are the leading voice for badgers in England and Wales, with a network of over 50 local voluntary badger groups, and supported by thousands of supporters and followers.

Story

Clare's name for Nick is The Old Badger because of his hardworking and determined yet wise and retiring nature (and his grey hair).

It's not uncommon for Clare and Nick returning late to see a badger barrelling past the back door on its way back to the hospital grounds after a good snuffle round someone's lawn (apparently they suck up worms like spaghetti). The sight never fails to raise a smile.

But these most English of creatures are horribly persecuted by some landowners, and by people who get their kicks from seeing just how much damage these sturdy creatures can do against dogs.

Badger Trust, a Sussex-based charity, campaigns, protects, informs and rescues, so giving to it is a good way of supporting a creature of which Clare and Nick are very fond.
