The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

On 21 May 40 of us will be rowing the 21 miles round Lake Windermere - in teams of 4, with 2 rowing at a time, each with a pair of oars. We will be in old fashioned rowing boats - so tough to steer. And tricky if the wind is blowing!

Then, on 20-23 June, along with 39 other npower riders, I will be attempting to cycle from Whitehaven on the East coast to Sunderland on the West coast, covering c.55 miles per day for 3 days! Goodness knows if I'll ever be able to make it as the 38 mile training ride I've just done nearly finished me off!

In July we'll hike up Ben Nevis and in August we'll do. 26 mile walk along Hadrian's Wall.

So, if you are prepared to take a leap of faith and sponsor me, I will be hugely grateful.

Macmillan is an amazing charity and your support will go to help keep people affected by cancer warm - all the money npower raises goes to help people affected by cancer with their energy bills (if they need the help).

And on the cycling challenge all 40 participants are all staying for 3 nights in the one massive tent! Surely that's worth a fiver even if the ride doesn't sound challenging enough!!
