Story
After a relativity short battle with cancer, Gerry passed away in the early hours of Friday the 5th November 2010. I am sitting here writing this and listening to the fireworks which in future will always remind me of my Dad.
He died at home surrounded by the things he loved and had created and in Christine’s (his wife for almost 60 years) arms.
As you probably know Gerry never liked to be pushed around and was dreading the thought of an extended spell in hospital waiting for the inevitable to happen. Whilst we are all very sad to see him go, we are glad that he was able to live his final days in the comfort and serenity of his own home.
Gerry loved life and having his family and friends around him but he always firmly believed that one day he would be re
-united with his beloved brother Bert who he had missed terribly; that day has now come.May we request that you do not send any flowers as these will be from the family only.
The Countess Mountbatten Hospice have been a great support to us and we know that they would appreciate any donations that you may feel are appropriate.
