Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

By donating through this page you will be supporting Andy Harrison and Mark Armstrong.  2 servicemen who are walking Hadrian's Wall from the Solway coast to Newcastle upon Tyne, a total of 84 miles over 4 days!

We have set ourselves this challenge to raise valuable funds for both Help for Heroes and the Kieron Hill memorial fund.

LCpl Kieron Hill was tragically killed while serving in Afghanistan last summer with The 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment (Worcesters & Foresters). Following his death the fact there was no war memorial on the Clifton estate, where Kieron was from, a fund was set up in order to build one and Kieron's family were asked to raise £19k towards the cost.

The new memorial will be unveiled on Sunday 18th April - Kieron's 21st birthday!

The family have nearly raised the initial amount and we're hoping we can raise enough to take them to the £19,000 mark and maybe even a little but over to kick start the next amount required to get some benches and the memorial lit.

We will be arriving at the Tyne Bridge about 1 in the afternoon on Monday 29th March 2010 and taking the scenic route through Newcastle city centre on the way to St James Park where we will finish.

We'd like as many people to join us on the final mile or so as possible so if your going to Newcastle for the game why not leave a little earlier and support us over the line (and join us for a well deserved beer after).
