London to Brighton - overnight cycle ride · 26 March 2010
Thanks for visiting this page.
You may know and have been astonished by the fact that I have been regularly cycling from Hyde Park Corner to the coast, starting at midnight. These expeditions are part of the infamous Friday Night Rides to the Coast - known as FNRttC). On 26th March the ride is going to Brighton, which is around 60 miles. Over 100 riders are expected to gather at Hyde Park Corner at midnight on Friday and we expect to have breakfast at the Madeira Cafe on the sea front around 7 am on Saturday morning. But not before having descended Reigate Hill at speeds of over 50 mph (not the wimps like me though) and scaled Ditchling Beacon - the final challenge for weary legs at the end of the ride.
For the first time this is going to be a charity ride - for a hospice in Brighton - Martlets. I have decided that I would use the opportunity to ask for sponsors who would donate to Willen Hospice. I would be very grateful for sponsorship in support of Willen Hospice, which depends on voluntary donations. I became aware of the wonderful care and support provided when Willen looked my friend David.
Should you be intrigued by the notion of night cycling, as I was, take a look here:
