My story
As some of you know my brother Robert has a condition called Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which is a condition that swells or hardens a portion of the heart and can mean an uncertain future. We also lost my Mother to the condition when she was only 35 and so I am primarily raising money in memory of my Mother and in supporting research into this condition with the Cardiomyopathy association.
I've always tried to keep fit, well I'm now taking this to a whole new level and have already begun my training for my first Iron Man event which is my first triathlon on 19th June 2011.
I decided that I'd be more motivated to complete the 1.2mile swim, 56mile bike ride and 13mile run if I had a charity to support. I'm raising money for the Cardiomyopathy Association which supports familes and research into this genetic condition that has affected me and my family. Find out more www.cardiomyopathy.org
