Story

I'm Riding 4,160km by Bike - Please Read on below.....

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  As many of you know I am involved in cycling and have two events coming up.

One is the 'Nightrider 2011 Challenge' - a 100km ride through the boroughs of London at night on 11 June 2011 starting at 11pm. Its sure to be a long hard night in the saddle!

The other one is a little more adventurous - and the greatest physical challenge I have ever taken part in.  The 'Tour D'Afrique Indian Adventure' is 3,300km long (actually now 4060km)  - both on and off road route - travelling from the north to the very bottom of India by bike.  On the morning of January 29th 2011,a group of cyclists will gather in front of the spectacular Taj Mahal in Agra, take a few photos and then wheel out into the chaos and excitement that is India! Several weeks later, after passing through the colourful desert cities of Rajasthan, the bustle of Mumbai, the legendary beaches of Goa and sampling the the seafood in Kerala, the same cyclists will arrive at the Kumari Amman Temple (more colourfully known as the Temple of the Virgin Sea Goddess) in Kanyakumari, where three seas meet and India ends - it is certainly going to be testing! The  terrain and environment will be demanding and I'm sure its going to be one hell of a ride.

Both trips are self funded so all donations go directly to charity.  I have chosen the Alzheimers Society Bexley Branch as my father in law was a sufferer and they helped him enormously over the years before he passed away. They do a great job there and any funds really help make life a little easier for patients.  Dementia is something that can affect us all.

I plan do write a blog of my trip with some photos as I go - check out

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now if you can help out in any way

Thanks Again,  Clive.

20th Jan 2011 - Since starting this page - sadly my mother in law passed away and her funeral was today.  She was the main carer for her husband and had a difficult time.  He had Alzheimers for 12 years before he died in 2005.  The ride is dedicated to Joyce Norris 1930 - 2011 - a photograph of her is attached.

1st Feb - due to route logistics we are now riding 4060km in India!

20th March 2011 - ride completed - what a journey - lost a ton of weight - had a few bike problems - met some great friends - check out the blog above or facebook for photos - thanks for all the support
