Story
Hello! On Saturday 6th August I will be part of a Sony Music team undertaking Total Warrior, the 'hardest race on the planet' (apparently!) Part of me is hoping this slogan is just a boastful exaggeration, but have a look at the website and see what you think… www.totalwarrior.co.uk
We'll be running 10km across the steepest hills of the Lake District, through a course designed to test us to the limit - fields of fire, rivers, swamps, mud slides, seven-foot walls, barbed wire tunnels - we'll be battling through them all. I think it will be a bit of a laugh – I hope I'm right! (?!)
The reason behind all this is Matthew's Friends, a small but significant charity which is doing ground-breaking work with children suffering from epilepsy. Epilepsy doesn't just mean having the occasional shaking fit - many sufferers experience excessive fits, which can lead to brain damage and lifelong disabilities. See the website for more information and heart-breaking stories www.matthewsfriends.org
What the charity does is teach parents to get their children off normal medication, and decrease the fits, just by using a complex balanced diet. The parents never know what the next fit could do – it could take away their child’s ability to speak, or walk…and this would be irreversible. It is vital to get the fits under control, and this diet method WORKS.
So if you can afford to donate a little, or a lot, please do. And you can look forward to seeing photos of me absolutely covered in mud!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Rachel x
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
