My story

WE DID IT!!

All three teams successfully completed their challenges without incident. A few aching limbs in the office and the cyclists have got the cushions out, but a great sense of achievement all round. A special thanks from the teams to the support teams for providing us with much needed support and refreshments along the way. Please continue to sponsor us to help us reach our target! Many thanks.

Thanks for visiting the fundraising page of the CO-OPERATIVE RISKY CHALLENGE.  We are members of the Operational Risk department of the Co-operative Group, and on 19th/20th September 2009 we will be doing our own "triathlon" with a difference to raise money for the Children's Adventure Farm Trust in Altrincham.

The cyclists (Simon Bannaghan, Andrew Dawson, Anthony Simpson, Kate Whittaker, Phil Willsmer, Phil George, Stephen Blanchard, Jason McGovern, Stephen Hartley, Mike Furphy and  Paul Winstanley) will be cycling from Snowdonia to Altrincham, a total distance of some 140 miles across the odd hill!

The runners (Lorraine Winterbone, Nadia Batool, Kevin Moore, Michael Turner and Andrew Lucas) will be running a half marathon, a total of 13 miles or 21 km, from our head office in Manchester city centre to Altrincham

AND the swimmers (Vicky McGhee, Graham Lilley, Adrian Jacobs, Matthew Hudson, Ian France and Lindsay Thorpe) will be swimming 1.5 miles or 2,500 m.

Supporting all the teams will be Sarah Bottomley, Rebecca Morgan,  Vikki Manchee, Mark Manchee, Terry Auckland,  Steph Cleworth, John McGhee, Alison France, Nicole France, Zoe Starmer, Amanda Douglas, Sara Batool, Pete Turner and Elaine Turner.

The aim is to involve as many members of the team as possible whilst raising money for a fantastic charity, the Children's Adventure Farm Trust. Please dig deep to help us raise money for this cause and provide joy to many sick and disadvantaged children.

Thank you.
