Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Jamie Cobb and I are setting out to cycle 700 miles in just one week from Charterhouse School to the largest Carthusian monastery in France, the Val Benediction in Avignon. We are doing this to raise money for the charity set up by the mother of a fellow Carthusian, Mark Evison, who tragically lost his life fighting for his men and country in Afghanistan.
The Mark Evison Foundation was set up in 2009 to promote the personal, mental and physical development of young people.
It provides funds to enable young people to stretch themselves constructively and so gain more confidence, courage and self-reliance, as wel as new skills.
Lt Mark Evison died in 2009 from a gunshot wound while serving as a British army officer in Helmand Province, Afghanistan: he was trying to get the platoon to safety following an ambush. The foundation was set up as a memorial to him, and his values and character are a driving force within it.
We therefore ask you to please dig deep and donate to a great cause that will enable other people to do such expeditions that we are, on the 8th July, going to embark on.
