Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Every month on the news we see reports of service personnel making the ultimate sacrifice for their country. What does not get reported is the number of servicemen who are terribly injured and maimed in the line of duty on a daily basis.
Help for Heroes is a charity that provides financial support to the Armed services, in order to rehabilitate servicemen wounded in the line of duty. Recent H4H projects include:
> The opening of an £8M Rehabilitation complex at Headley Court.
> Funds for the military initiative "Battle Back", to provide AT opportunities to wounded service personnel.
> H4H donated £3.5M to "Combat Stress" the charity that helps battle Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
> H4H donated £10,000 to the Military Liason Officer's (MLO) funds at Selly Oak, which allows MLO's to take patients and their family out for a meal, to get patients used to being in public again.
In order to raise money for the ongoing support and care of wounded soldiers, we have raised a team of University of London Officer Training Corps (ULOTC), London Regiment and Royal Engineer TA personnel to complete the Wales 3000's in March 2012.
The Wales 3000's consists of climbing all 15 mountains over 3000ft in Snowdonia in under 24 hours. (A total of 45,000ft !) It is an true test of leadership, endurance, courage, determination and military skills such as navigation and survival.
This expedition is entirely self funded and planned, and will be very arduous for the team members.
Whether you be a civilian, reservist or regular, please disseminate this page as widely as possible in order to raise the maximum amount we can !
Every donation counts ! Please give generously !
