Story

I am organising a variety of fundraising events to help raise money for a little girl who has a special place in my heart. I wrote the poem below which describes everything she has gone through so far. She is such a little fighter and deserves every chance of happiness so please donate <3

Amelia-Mae Davies – My Story

I’m just two years old, I was born September ‘10
Weighing in at 6lb 9, I was 5 weeks prem
After seven days in special care the jaundice went away
But problems with my heart meant that I was not okay

Too young for an operation, Surgery was put on hold
But then I became poorly and problems would unfold
I wasn't very hungry, I was tired all the time
Bruises were appearing on my limbs and near my spine

Diagnosed with a virus, not just once, but twice
I also had an ear infection - it wasn't very nice
I wasn't getting better so we went on holiday
I seen another doctor and was told I was okay

I spent my second birthday feeling worse than ever before
I was then sent back the hospital, where things would change for sure
I received a range of tests, then, results we heard
Our world was turned upside down, when they said I had the ‘C’ word

Tumours all over my body, Anaemic with septic blood
I didn’t really understand but I knew it wasn’t good
Chemo, extractions, scans, a central line, an MRI
So many different procedures, the days would pass me by

I was ready two months later, to have my main tumour removed
And 4 weeks after surgery I went home and I felt soothed
But hospital visits continued, the tumours would return
The relapse rates are high and that I’ve had to learn

I’ll get straight to the point, now that you’ve read my story
I’m hoping you will help me out, give me hope and glory
I need to get to America, there’s treatment there for me
But I need lots of money, it’s privatised you see

My attitude is courage, I live this life each day
Just waiting for tomorrow, praying cancer goes away
So please donate £1 or more if possible – it’s your choice
But just help me tell Cancer that I still have a voice....

“Cancer you started this battle, But I will win this war
I caught you red handed and you shall live no more

I’m fighting you with chemo although it's making me ill,
Your time here is short, it’s you that this will kill

With hope and with faith, my fear I'll walk through,
There is no surrender, just the death of you”

I’d like to be a child who lives life like all the rest
But first I need to prove that I can pass this horrid test
So I beg you all to help me, however it may be
And for all the help you give, I’ll be grateful eternally
