Snowdon Challenge 2012 · 1 September 2012

Animals Asia is devoted to ending the barbaric practice of bear bile farming and improving the welfare of animals in China and Vietnam. We promote compassion and respect for all animals and work to bring about long-term change.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was too busy training and don't get to a computer often enough so am only setting up this page now but at least I can prove that I really did it.  I climbed Mount Snowdon on Saturday 1st September to try and raise at least £200 for my cousins in Asia who aren't as lucky as me.  I'm helping Animals Asia who help those wonderful people who rescue dogs and cats from the meat markets and trucks and look after them.  Animals Asia helps people in Asia to better understand dogs and cats because many people there have never known a dog or a cat personally so don't understand how much we can help them. You can read about their Cat and Dog Welfare programme here http://www.animalsasia.org/index.php?UID=7W6PU3NBTI5 and watch a short video about Twizzle who was rescued from a meat truck and now lives in England

Animals Asia also rescues Moon Bears from farms so horrible you can't even imagine it - some people call them torture chambers.  Bears can live in tiny cages, so small that they can't even turn around or scratch an itch, for up to 30 years and they are "milked" for their bile.  You can read all about their campaign to end bear farming here http://www.animalsasia.org/index.php?UID=2J0NIOGTVCWA and this is a short film called "Would you Believe Me" that my friend Richard Symonds made with the lovely actress Rula Lenska last year about those places

I also help out at lots of events but this was a very hard challenge for me because I don't usually climb mountains and I was very stiff the next morning.  I would do it all again though to help all those dogs, cats and bears who need our help so, so desperately. Please help me help them.

For those who don't know me - I'm the Chocolate Labrador in the pictures by the way
