We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

I have loved books and reading for as long as I can remember.  One of my most favourite authors is Terry Pratchett.  His style of writing is so funny and heartwarming, you can't help but get involved in the books.  I especially love his Discworld series - with such vibrant characters and locations I could reread each book a million times and never get bored.

In 2007 Terry Pratchett announced that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimers and I was so sad and sorry.  For such a genius to lose his mind and be unable to continue to create his wonderful world is a major loss to the world.  A while ago my friend mentioned perhaps doing a Discworldathon: reading all the Discworld books (currently 39 of them) in one year, to raise money for Alzheimers research.  As far as I know, my friend's idea never came to fruition.  As we are nearing the end of the year and I start making plans for 2012, I've decided to take on the Discworldathon challenge.

Between 00.01 on 1st January 2012, and 23.59 on 31st December 2012 I will read all 39 Discworld books.  Please sponsor me!  Help me raise money for research to cure Alzheimers.  The smallest donations welcome, but bigger ones are preferred.

Thank you :-)
