<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>Our family and friends have been deeply affected by Cancer.&nbsp; We want to do something to help fight this horrible disease - and feel this is the perfect opportunity to do so.&nbsp;&nbsp; We know you all really want to spoil us by buying us wonderful expensive gifts for our 'special' birthday - but please resist (we know it will be hard!)&nbsp; Instead - please donate your pennies (or hopefully pounds) to The Beatson Pebble Appeal!&nbsp; Here's some more information on it:</p> <p>"The Beatson Pebble Appeal is a &pound;10m campaign to raise funds to build the Beatson Translational Research Centre; the final element in the creation of the Glasgow Centre for Cancer Research.</p> <h3>What will the Beatson TRC Do?</h3> <p>The Beatson Translational Research Centre (TRC) will convert basic cancer research into real improvements in treatments for patients. It will focus upon especially common tumours, those that cause the most deaths in Scotland such as endocrine (breast, prostate and ovarian); smoking related (lung, throat, oral) and gastrointestinal cancer.
