Story

To raise awareness & funds for the Central Lancashire M.E Support Group the Chairman (who suffers from this debilitating condition) is driving round the boundaries of the membership area . Preston , Leyland , Chorley , Darwen , Rawtenstall , Bacup , Ramsbottom , Accrington , Great Harwood , Clitheroe , Blackburn , Preston (or the reverse way round)  a distance of about 180 miles . The Rover 3500 pictured has been back on the road properly for 6 months after several years left to rot outside and then abandoned in a barn. When bought in May 2009 it was covered in green mould and pigeon droppings outside and white fungus inside. Now with new exhaust, tyres, battery, fuel pump & carpets it should be good for what it was intended for once again.

M.E / CFS is a chronic condition affecting the immune , hormone and central nervous systems. There are approx 275000 known sufferers in the U.K. Our Group is manned entirely by volunteers & we have only 1 part-time  support worker , funding for whom runs out this August. With increasing membership and reduced income we no longer have the necessary resources to provide the services so desperately needed.

All monies raised will go directly to Group funds , helping us to provide support to sufferers of this much misunderstood illness (recognised by the NHS and the WHO) by people who understand what it means to have it.
