Wakefield Hospice provides high quality palliative and end-of-life care to people with serious illnesses. We aim to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients and their families. Thanks to everyone who raises funds to ensure we’re here to support families in Wakefield.

Story

Hello. Thanks for visiting my site.

For those of you who aren't aware my mum is extremeley ill at present. She is now being cared for full time in a nursing home but before Christmas she moved into Wakefield Hospice for a few weeks respite care. The staff at the Hospice were superb - looking after mum and even ensuring she made it to my brothers wedding.

The Hospice is run by the generosity of others. It can cost in the region of £500 per day per patient for care.

Although I have run several half marathons before this is the first one for a good cause. Whilst the course record is unlikely to be under threat I am hoping for a PB on the day.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Any donation is hugely appreciated. Thanks!!
