Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Evie was born on 17/02/2012 at 4.06 am weighing 8lb 13 oz, But at an hour old our beautiful girl was rushed off to scbu after the midwife checked her oxygen saturation's and it was only 69%, the doctors at our local hospital where she was born gave her high flow oxygen, but her saturation's still couldn't get past 90 %. So Dr's started doing scans on her heart where it was seen that evie had congenital heart defects. At around 18 hours after her birth she was then transferred to Yorkhill Glasgow, where she was fully diagnosed the following morning. Evie was diagnosed at 1 day old with a rare condition Heterotaxy Right Atrial isomerism, she is asplenic, has 2 trilobed lungs, midline liver, Gastric intestine rotation Congenital heart defects Total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage, ( Tapvd) Double outlet right ventricle, (Dorv) Atrioventricular septal defect, (Avsd) & Sub Pulmonary stenosis. ( sub ps) We spent the first 5 weeks of evies life at yorkhill , as she needed lots of xrays, ct scans, echos ecg's ect. Evie also picked up Rhino virus which went into her lungs, so she spent 2 weeks in picu & Hdu on the ventilator then on c- pap, Dr's said evie would need surgery by arround 3 months old, but Evie is still doing great but will likely have her first open heart surgery sometime this year. She had a cardiac cath back in june and it was decided evie would be able to have her Tapvd repair and her glenn in the one surgery now. So its just a matter of waiting until she needs her 1st op.
