At Princess Alice Hospice, we provide exceptional end of life care in our hospice and in the community. We know we can’t prevent death, but we do whatever we possibly can to make it the best it possibly can be. But, above all, we believe that hospice care is for living.

Story

My nephew, Callum, is attempting to become the youngest person to row solo across the Atlantic this winter. As if this wasn't enough he is attempting the equally daunting task of raising £280,000 for charity and this is a small contribution of effort on my part. Callum's efforts are in memory of his father, Clive, who sadly died of a brain tumour in 2012.

Like me, Clive enjoyed running and his advice to me one day when we ran together of "don't lose that bounce" is something that regularly comes to mind and keeps me going as I slog through a few more miles. So it seems fitting to run a half marathon, and particularly this one that passes by Callum's rowing club in Walton-on-Thames.

I hope you can, through me, support Callum's quite amazing attempt. All money raised from this site will be going to one of Callum's three charities - The Princess Alice Hospice. You can find out more about the other two charities and exactly what he's taking on at:  http://thewaterbabies.co.uk/
