Story
Two years ago we were blessed with the birth of our beautiful twins, George and Grace. They were with us for only a few hours but made such a massive impression on our lives, we will never forget them and cherish every minute we had them with us.
As they were premature it was not viable to save them and we made the most of our brief time together taking family photographs, holding them, cuddling them, kissing them and being the parents we longed to be to them. We talked to them, sang to them, showed them the blue sky and fresh air from the hospital window and told them how much we loved them and would miss them. They passed away peacefully in our arms on the 16th July 2012, their birthday. They left the world in the same way they came into it - together.
Unfortunately ours is not a unique story. It is only when you live through something like that, that you hear of others who have suffered loss too. It takes charities like SANDS to provide support and advice to bereaved parents, and give hope to those who have lost. They also campaign and perform great work in raising awareness of such issues.
Newcastle SANDS has provided support and advice for my wife Nicki and I would like to do this challenge to raise some money for their group, in the memory of our twins.
Those who know me will know this is not my idea of fun - but a challenge which I hope would make George and Grace proud of their Daddy, and will raise some much needed funding for a very worthwhile charity.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and donating.
