Story
The Kenyan Orphan Project is a charity which provides aid and long term support to orphans and vulnerable children Kenya.
Working with both a short and long term vision KOP works to improve areas including health, education and social welfare, while fighting poverty, disease, social exclusion and injustice. Through a variety of projects including schools, feeding centres, hospitals and educational programmes, KOP aims to improve the lives of vulnerable children and give them hope for the future.
This summer I am taking part in a two week volunteering programme in the city of Kisumu, Kenya, where several of KOP’s projects are based.
As part of my preparation for the trip I am aiming to raise at least £800 for the charity.
100% of all the money raised goes directly to the children in Kenya to be spent on projects to improve their lives and futures.
KOP will not take any of the money donated to cover administration or UK costs as a valuable part of their ethos is to ensure every penny of every donation directly makes a different to the lives of children in Kenya.

‘to work in partnership with local organisations to deliver school based health and nutrition interventions and to inspire groups of university students to become advocates for change’
