Fundraising for Spotlight on Africa
Hi everyone,
Thank you so very very much for your help, it has been such a great success and I am so happy that we hit the target, not only do I get to keep the hair but we can also get started on the boreholes.
Providing clean water for the school and local community The lack of a clean water supply is a real issue that impacts on the lives of the school pupils and the local community; we have decided to support the drilling of two new bore holes: the first for the school, and the second for the local community. This is because with over 500 children, the school itself warrants its own borehole; and if there was no other provision for another village borehole in the local community this would mean that the school borehole would be overburdened. In addition, there is a very serious lack of clean water supply in the village of Musoto where about 5,000 people live impoverished lives. Harpenden Spotlight on Africa is aiming to raise additional money for the community borehole, and have already been focusing our fundraising efforts through sponsored events, our Ball in October and stalls at thecarnival and recent Highland Gathering.
So again, many thanks to every one and I appreciate all the donations still coming in after the deadline.
I will keep yopu all posted on the progress of the projects.
Lots of Love
Connie
