Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

This journey started in summer 2014 when we got involved in demonstrations against the terrible harm being done to the people of Gaza by Israel's bombing campaign.  After a great speech from local MP Jeremy Corbyn at one of the smaller protests here in North London, someone made the mistake of giving a very vocal Scotsman a loudspeaker (see photos), and so we heard all about his plan for a mass cycle to support the children of Palestine.

One year on that same vocal Scotsman, Dermot MacWard, has managed to get together hundreds of cyclists – including the two of us – to raise money for the children of Palestine, and the same MP Jeremy Corbyn is one of 42 in the UK parliament to have signed a motion in support of this “Big Ride” from Edinburgh to London.

Dermot is just one of the many wonderful activists we’ve met since last summer, and we will surely meet many more on this “Tour de France lite”.  But more importantly, we’ll be raising money for the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA), which provides vital care for the children of Palestine, including lifesaving work in Gaza’s hospitals. That’s why we’re more than happy to spend four long days in the saddle as we make our way from the north of England back down to London.

Please sponsor us so that we can help MECA care for the children of Gaza.

Thanks for your support,

Conor and Asa
