Story

My New Years resolution was not your typical resolution of giving up smoking or drinking! I wanted to make a positive difference to many inspirational people's lives and to raise as much awareness and funds for a cause very close to my heart Cystic Fibrosis! But in order to do that I went on the search to find an event which would be both mentally and physically challenging as I know first hand that Cystic Fibrosis sufferers have a mental and physical challenge on their hands every day of their lives fighting the terrible and life threatening symptoms of Cystic Fibrosis. A few days later I found an event which definately ticked all of the right boxes which would test my body to the limit, Tough Mudder! Tough Mudder is a hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle course designed by the Special Forces to test your all round strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie.

However like Cystic Fibrosis, I couldn't tackle this event alone I needed the help and support of my family and friends to help me battle through the challenging obstacles the assault course has to offer. So I recruited the finest of athletes otherwise known as Chris Icke, Stephen Icke and Gary Nightingale to form a team called Conquer your Fears (CF for short).

So please help us make a positive difference to the lives of everyone who is effected by the terrible life threatening illness of Cystic Fibrosis by donating generously to this incurable cause!

I know first hand the harsh reality of the effects of Cystic Fibrosis, as I see my beautiful wife Emily battle so bravely each and every day of her life fighting this illness. She is in desperate need of a double lung transplant and is doing all that she can to get on the transplant list to give her the opportunity of recieving that gift of life that we all take for granted.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the UK's most common life-threatening inherited diseases. It affects over 9,000 people in the UK.Over 95% of the UK CF population is Caucasian, but CF affects many ethnic groups.Over two million people in the UK carry the faulty gene that causes Cystic Fibrosis - around 1 in 25 of the population. If two carriers have a child, the baby has a 1 in 4 chance of having Cystic Fibrosis.

Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food.

Each week, five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis.

Each week, two young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.Currently half of the CF population will live past 41 years of age, and improvements in treatments mean a baby born today is expected to live even longer.
