Story
The Courtauld Film Club is delighted to invite you to an exclusive evening of movies and party at the exclusive member cinema and club THE REX on Friday 9th March to celebrate International Women's Day. The Rex has generously opened the doors to Courtauld students for a very special evening.
Courtesy of Artificial Eye, we will show Offside by Jafar Panahi - All about women and football in Iran & how things may not be exactly as you'd think. This film depicts an incident during the 2005 World Cup qualification match between Iran and Bahrain at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran. A girl disguised as a boy tries to gain entry to the stadium where the match is due to kick off. But, women are not allowed there. The girl is discovered....Un-missable!
Screening at 8pm and then we will party until 3am.
If you are interested in coming to the movie screening or to the party afterwards, let us know so that your name is on the guestlist.
There is no entrance fee but we would like to ask you to make a donation to Room To Read Girl Scholarship program which enables underprivileged girls to have access to an education in Nepal, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Sri Lanka. Please be as generous as you can. We are aiming to raise £500 which is enough to provide a year's education to four girls. For more info, go to www.roomtoread.org
Many thanks for your support
