I am doing a Charity Dragon Boat Challenge through Graham Plumbers Merchant, in order to raise money for Barnados. The Money raised will contribute towads developing their Gap Homes and Future place initiatives, which seek to make a lasting impact on the lives of the young people Barnados are working with.

Gap Homes are transitional homes for Care leavers, bridging the gap between supported living and independance for young people at their most vulnerable age.

Future Place is a skills training academy which provides 16-25 year olds who have left the care system with high quality training, pastoral support and employemnt opportunities, enabling young people to reach their full potential and create a positive future.

As a 21 year old who completed a-levels and then applied to multiple colleges and universities for a variety of courses, having no idea what I wanted to do, before entering straight into full time education.I know how difficult and confusing leaving school and making life choices can be and I want to do my part to help others who dont have the experience, opportunities and support that I had/have.
