Darent Valley Hospital Charity - Little Buds Fund · 1 July 2012 ·

Whether facing cancer, stroke, heart disease or have a sick child or baby, we want to provide the very best care. A variety of ground breaking equipment and treatments are now in place because of donations kindly made by the public, much more than our NHS budget can provide. Thank you

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page supporting the little buds fund.

I would firstly like to apologise for asking you to put your hand in your pocket and backing another charity of which you may not of heard of or been in contact with. However we have.

As you may or may not know, Teresa and I very sadly lost our daughter very late in pregnancy, we were admitted to Darent Valley Hospital and were cared for by Saints, without the care and support from the Midwives and Drs the process we had to experience would of been physically and mentally impossible. I can not thank them enough for what they did for Teresa, the only way I can try to repay them is to raise funds for equipment they need.

Speaking to the midwives during our stay in hospital, I learnt that due to the closures of 2 hospitals in the area the Darent Valley Hospital maternity ward is over run, equipment has to be shared and funds do not cover expanding the ward and filling it with the equipment needed to care for well, ill or still babies and their mothers.

With help from fund raising for Little Buds they are able to purchase the equipment they need that in the future can help parents in the same unfortunate situation as we were and also for all mothers and fathers delivering their child.

So please dig deep and donate now.

My end of the deal is to run and the more people donate the more I will run, I plan on doing some small events to start with, building up to my final run on the 25th of September in a half marathon around Greenwich and its surrounding areas. Please visit www.runtothebeat.co.uk to see more.
