20.00 hrs update: £550 in the bag. Huge, huge, huge thanks to everyone who's chipped in so quickly. I've started my drive down to the Alps with Graham Bell - due to arrive in Courmayeur at 6am Friday ready to ski!!

29th March, 15.00hrs

Right folks, listen up..... I need your help. Quickly!

In exactly 24 hours i'm set to be on the slopes of Courmayeur, Italy. That's not unusual for me given my job, though this time i'm going to be doing a little more than my usual cursory 'couple of hours in the morning followed by a very long lunch'.

Ski Solutions is hosting their inaugral 'Ski The World Challenge' in Courmayeur tomorrow - i've got over 20,000 vertical metres to ski in the next two and a bit days. That's a hell of a lot. Especially when the only training you've done for this is a week lying on your back on the beach. It's +18 degrees in Courmayeur at the moment, and after 11am it's going to be a moguled slushfest. It's going to hurt. I've been informed that 'lunching' is off the agenda. So too is beer (till the evening). And grappa. This ain't going to be easy.

Now, down to the important bit of fundraising. I must admit, being as lazy as I am i've never taken on marathons and the like. I think the last 'challenge' I did was a sponsored silence aged 8 yrs old. There were plenty of willing donors, but I remember it being a long-drawn out process to get pledges and collect in cash. I've been a little more, ahem, 'disorganised' this year and i'm putting my faith in the powers of 'social media' to get me over the line with this one in the next 48 hours. Can I really raise £1000 of cash in just 48 hours? We'll see.

What I will say is that IF we can get to £1000 by 3pm Saturday I will ski the final day of the challenge on Sunday in a suitably embarassing outfit and publish the incriminating images for all to see on the Ski Solutions homepage next week.

So let's look at the benefits of chucking some cash in here:

- Burton has a weekend of pain and cursing for being so unfit

- Ritual hiumiliation on Sunday, and the following week

What's not to like?

Come on. Dig deep. And quickly please folks......

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
