Leukaemia Care supports anyone affected by leukaemia. Every day, 28 people in the UK are diagnosed. We offer information, emotional support and advocacy, so no one has to face leukaemia alone.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Running the London Marathon is something that I have always wanted to achieve. I am lucky enough to have been selected as one of only 100 runners in the 2012 marathon for Leukaemia Care, a fantastic charity that provides vital care and support to all those whose lives have been affected by Leukaemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma and the allied blood disorders. Their work extends to families and carers, as well as that of patients themselves.

I have been set a minimum fundraising target of £2,000, which is a substantial/daunting amount of money to raise, but a worthwhile and worthy challenge.

I will be running the marathon in memory of my fiancées mother, Penny Jamieson, who we lost to Leukaemia. Penny was an incredible woman who was loved by many, and we all miss her very much. I hope that the money I raise will continue to give patients and their families the level of support that Penny received whilst in hospital.

Please donate generously and let me get to £2k ASAP, so that I can stop worrying about money and concentrate on the part where I have to run 26 miles! If 77 people donate £1 per mile (£26) then I would have raised £2002, which I know would be a fantastic contribution to the charity. Any donation that you choose to give will of course be greatly appreciated by both myself and the charity.

*UPDATE*

Running is back on track after a minor knee injury kept me out for a few weeks. Also managed to raise £400 at a Goodbye Stereo gig last night. Making good progress at the moment!

Craig x
