Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

After 5 years of relative inactivity, and only sporadic running, I've decided to run this year's London marathon to raise money for an excellent charity called Whizz-Kidz.

Whizz-Kidz transforms the lives of thousands of disabled children and young people by providing them with the correct mobility equipment and giving them opportunities to have fun, make friends, learn new skills and achieve their potential.

We all witnessed the phenomenal talent, skills and ambitions of disabled people during the Paralympics and Whizz-Kidz wants to capatalise on the legacy of the Games - to create more access to to sport, but also to offer greater opportunity for young disabled people across all areas of society.

Any donation you can make, big or small, will make a difference.

For example:

£10 could buy equipment for two teams of Whizz-Kidz to have fun playing wheelchair football at a local kidz club

£20 could pay for a set of skittles for a group of Whizz-Kidz to knock over and whizz around at a wheelchair skills training day

£50 could pay for a video camera and help a group of Whizz-Kidz to have fun and gain skills creating their very own mini movie

£450 could pay for a wheelchair skills course to give children the skills and confidence they need to be kids

£1500 could provide a lightweight wheelchair to give a child the independence they need to keep up with their friends

and...

£2500 could provide a specialised sports wheelchair to give a child the opportunity to become the next David Weir or Tanni Grey Thompson.

You can find out more about the work Whizz-Kidz do to help the 70,000 disabled children in the UK waiting for the right wheelchair at their website, http://www.whizz-kidz.org.uk/why-we-need-your-help/.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. . Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I'll be keeping a blog to keep you all up to date with my progress, so feel free to check back here from time to time to see how I am getting on the long road to April!

Cheers,

Craig
