Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

  • Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. One man dies every hour in the UK.

On Saturday 10th April 2010 I ran at the K2 Sports Centre, Crawley, UK for 12 hours non-stop. My original plan was to run in excess of 100 kilometres which I did beating the distance by 504 metres. I even made it into the newspapers, be it only a local copy I was still chuffed to my achievement recognised.

If you would like to read my full report and the pains I went through to do the event visit my blog, every metre was worth it for the charity

Pictures of me running can also be seen here

'Don't let prostate cancer hide' is this year's campaign to help get prostate cancer out in the open. It's a hidden cancer because not enough people talk about it. We can't see the prostate, and many people don't even know what it is or what it does.

Prostate cancer awareness month is all about changing that. The more we talk openly about prostate cancer, the more lives can be saved.

So please dig deep and donate now.
