Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are eight individuals, seven of us attempting a Triathlon for the first time. It was important in attempting the Triathlon to find a worthy cause.
Five of the team attend or have attended a local gym in Cheltenham. Rob Cruse an instructor at the gym was tragically killed in car accident at the age of 24 in late 2008.
He had a younger brother and sister who have received suppport from the charity Winston's Wish. Therefore the team felt this charity which provides invaluable support for bereaved children and their families was an obvious choice.
The 'Cruising for a bruising' Triathlon Virgins are;
Adrian Randle - (the master) as the eldest member of the team he wants to beat his two best men, Henry and Simon!
Ann-Marie Randle - simply wants to finish....(and would secretly love to beat Adrian)
Neal Maycock - as the youngest male in the team would like to beat us all.
Kate Maycock - just wants to get through the swim.
Simon Willmore - wants to do the fastest 5km.
Henry Peters - would like to make it home before the pubs close!
David Howard - wants to keep his hair dry?!
Steve Moss - Our experienced team member would like to beat last years time.
The event which consists of a 400m swim, 18km cycle and 5km run takes place at Newent on Sunday 20th September 2009.
First off is Kate at 9.38am with the rest of the team not far behind. If you have nothing better to do come along and support. It'll be worth it to see who looks best in lycra!!!

Not long to go now. We've all put in the hard work and now its nearly time for us to put your money where our mouths are!!
Adrian has definitely done the most training (this will be no surprise to those of you who know him) lets hope we can all make it round and keep up with 'The Master'!
Anyone who would like to help celebrate us finishing is more than welcome to join us for 'post triathlon beers' (I'm sure I read somewhere that alcohol works wonders for re-hydrating a tired body?)
We are meeting from 2pm this Sunday at the Exmouth Arms on Bath Road.

A massive effort from all saw everyone cross the finish line, aches and pains aside we all enjoyed it. The weather was great a little too hot for Henry who was last to go meaning he really was the 'mad englishman out the midday sun'!
The offical results are published on www.newenttriathlon.org showing split & overall times for all but to make it easy for you,
first place goes to Neal Maycock, followed by; Adrian Randle, Ann-Marie Randle, Steve Moss, Kate Maycock, Simon Wilmore, David Howard and Henry Peters.
I'm not so sure everyone will be rushing to sign up for another but it gives all of us a massive sense of achievement to finish but more importantly thanks to everyones generousity we've raised over £2000 for this fantastic cause.
Thank you again for your generous donations.
