Story

Dear All

After pedalling 17,000km through 20 countries for over six months I've finally done it.  I've reached Cape Town.

It has been an incredible journey and a great adventure.  It been tough, very tough at times but so worthwhile.

I've cycled under armed guard in Egypt, crossed deserts in Sudan, been harrassed in Ethiopia, cycled through bandit country in Kenya and lion country in Tanzania.  I've pimped myself out as a bicycle taxi in Mozambique, dealt with the financial woes of Zimbabwe and hyenas round my tent in Botswana.

I've lived out one of my dreams.

Part of my motvation for undertaking this mammoth task was to help raise funds for Hazel Footprints Trust (http://www.hazelfootprints.org/).  A Charity that enables people to have their own adventures and help in communities around the world.  Their principle aims are:

• To advance education for the public benefit by the provision of financial assistance to people embarking on a period of voluntary work overseas;

• To promote the charitable purposes of the Otjikondo Village School Foundation, Namibia, through the provision of an annual donation;

• To relieve poverty and advance education elsewhere in the world by the provision of occasional grants to educational establishments in impoverished countries.

Thank you for your generosity.

With very best wishes

George
