Story
I am looking forward to a challenge by taking part in this charity bike ride Having never cycled for 35 miles before when I heard about the story behind this event I felt I had to take part. Please read the story below.
On the 12th May 2019 I will be taking part in a challenging bike ride around Hertfordshire in memory of David Minn who tragically died in January 2018 in a horrific hiking accident in Argentina.
David's family would like all donations to go to The Eve Appeal Charity.
The Eve Appeal is the UK national charity raising awareness and funding research into the five gynaecological cancers - womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal.
Eve Appeal were set up to save women's lives by funding ground-breaking research focused n developing effective methods of risk prediction, earlier detection and developing screening for these women-only cancers. This charity has grown and developed in parallel with their core research team, the Department of Women's Cancer at University College London (UCL), taking place in 31 institutions across 15 countries. They have played a crucial role in providing seed funding, core infrastructure funding and project funding in addition to campaigning to rise awareness of women-specific cancers.
The world-leading research that they fund is ambitious and challenging but their vision is simple: A future where fewer women develop and more women survive gynaecological cancers.
