<p>Hi and thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.</p> <p>It has always been one of my longstanding ambitions to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Last year, with my 50th birthday looming and assisted in only a small part by a couple of drinks, a firm commitment was made to fulfil that ambition&nbsp;and my long suffering friend Nige was 'persuaded' to do likewise.</p> <p>So, it's off to Africa on Saturday 22nd October 2011.</p> <p>The charity I am endeavouring to raise money for is <em>Contact the Elderly</em>.Some of you may know that this charity aims to provide comfort and support to elderly people living on their own by transporting them to a monthly afternoon tea party.&nbsp; I have been a driver for the charity since 2005 and it is a truly rewarding experience. I know that for many of the elderly who attend the parties it is a monthly highlight.</p> <p>Please give much as you are able, as it is a fantastic cause and one which is often forgotten.</p> <p>No doubt I'll be updating my trials and tribulations over the coming weeks.
