My story

Buy Yourself a Warm and Fuzzy Feeling

These days, what can you buy for a Pound – or a Euro? OK, OK, I know Poundland has some amazing stuff, but does buying a … I don’t know … a toilet brush for example, make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

Of course it doesn’t (well not if you use if for the manner to which it is intended anyway!). And neither do many things in life, so what we want to offer is the opportunity for you to experience a warm and fuzzy feeling to get you through these cold and harsh winter months. And here’s how …

We (a 3-member team made up of Becky, Michelle and Alison aka Sharkie’s Angels) are taking part in Dumball 2012: Back to Black - a mad dash (it's not a race!) across Europe in a load of old bangers. We are driving from Brighton to the Ukraine via no less than 14 amazing countries, fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust as we go. As well as driving the length of Italy, zipping through Albania, and hitting the Carpathian mountains in Romania, we are visting Moldova and Ukraine for the first time ever. Check out the route map here

Dumball has been raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust to build a state-of-the-art unit at a recognised centre of excellence, the Royal Marsden Hospital.

What we are asking is that all of our contacts … THAT’S YOU … donate a minimum of £1/ €1 to the Teenage Cancer Trust (of course the more you donate the warmer and fuzzier you will feel) and as a thank you, we will keep you updated with our stories and adventures along the way. Please check out our blog page and subscribe to keep updated of our travels http://beta.offexploring.com/sharkiesangels We promise photos, stories, laughs and possibly a few tears! And you can send us messages, tips and hints and anything else that you can come up with.

We are (obviously!) paying for all our own travel costs, including car, accommodation, fuel, food, flight back so every penny you donate goes straight to Teenage Cancer Trust

Teenage Cancer Trust

Charity Registration No. 1062559

Every day in the UK, six teenagers are diagnosed with cancer. At Teenage Cancer Trust, we understand that cancer doesn’t stop these teenagers being teenagers. We know that young people have a much better chance if they are treated by teenage cancers experts, in an environment tailored to their needs. So we have created specialist units that aren’t like ordinary cancer wards. Everything about them has been designed to give teenagers the very best chance of a positive outcome. And we want every young person with cancer in this country to have that chance.
