Teenage Cancer Trust - Dumball 2012: Back to Black · 2 June 2012 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Aaron, Chris & Andy drive 2700 miles through 15 countries to Odessa....

Welcome to the Bass Bandit’s (AKA Andy, Chris and Aaron’s) Dumball 2012 justgiving page. Yes, we’re at it again…another year, another stupid challenge.

However, after completing Oxfam’s Trailtrekker 100 km hike in 2009, and the Copenhagen Marathon in 2011, we decided enough was enough; no more physical challenges, and giving our lives over to training - there must be faster, more fun activities out there. With this in mind we endeavoured find something whereby we could make some money for a fantastic charity, move a bit faster than Chris and also test our adventurousness, adaptability and resourcefulness. And thus, we found the Dumball Rally:

In the name of charity (and fun) Aaron, Andy and Chris (along with 50 other teams) will dress in cheap, stupid looking racing outfits and attempt to drive an old Volvo from Brighton, England 2725 miles (or 4385 km for the more continental of our readers) to Odessa in the Ukraine in only 8 days, passing through 15 countries, whilst raising money for a charity which does exceptional work for those teenagers who receive the devastating news they or their loved ones, have cancer. The Teenage Cancer Trust help those diagnosed with cancer to cope – read some more here

http://www.teenagecancertrust.org/

.

So, although this will doubtless be a more fun challenge than a 36 hour walk through the Peak district, or pounding the streets of Copenhagen for 26.2 miles, we think this is a damn good reason to spare a couple of quid or whatever you can afford.

So thanks for reading and donating, – we will try to keep the page updated with more pictures of our pimped Volvo and racing outfits in due course. Love and cuddles, the Bass Bandits....
