Story

The team did it. Both the sprint boys finished in sub 1:30 and both the Olympic boys finished in under 2:20.

It was tough all round and made tougher by having to share double beds!

Sponsor us please folks and raise money for Prostate UK!

DB Max Tri are teaming up with Prostate UK at this year's London Triathlon.

Did you know that 1 in 2 men will be affected by prostate diseases at some point in their lives...? Or that prostate cancer is the most common cancer in the UK...?

Despite this, it only attracts one hundredth of the research funding that breast cancer does, although both diseases claim similar numbers of lives.

So this is where DB Max Tri come in and where you can help.

DB Max have been partnered with Prostate UK since 2008 and are keen to promote the valuable work they do to as many people as possible in the multisport world. Prostate have been supporters of DB Max Events so when they needed a team to represent them at the London Triathlon, we were only too keen to volunteer.

The boys that answered the call are:

Tom Whitmore – Sprint Distance – First triathlon and first event since knee reconstruction in November 2008. Can his bionic knee get him round the course…?

Scott Powell – Sprint Distance - Comeback race of a once a keen athlete who’s now 2 stone overweight because he spends all his time organising events for other people. Can he get fit enough to complete the course in just four weeks…?

Andy Grist – Olympic Distance – Probably the fastest improving athlete in the DB Max Tri club during 2009. Now an awesome swimmer, but getting quicker and quicker on the bike and run. Completed his first Olympic triathlon in under 2:15 and very keen to lead the boys home in .

Will Whitmore – Olympic Distance – Previously completed two Olympic distance triathlons; one in 2004 and one in 2006. Sneaked under 2:30 in 2006 and will give everything he can to try and catch Andy on the bike and run.

So if you’re a man, or you know a man, Prostate UK’s work could be helping you. Help us to help them by sponsoring DB Max Tri at the London Triathlon 2009!
